I think the boy is correct because snow is cold and the jacket is an insulator so it will keep snowman cold.

I think the snow man will melt with the coat on,because the coat is a bad insulator.

I think that if the material is an insulator it will stop the heat trasnferring to the cold snowman, so it will stop it from melting.
